Remember the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011

As a volunteer guide, I visited Watari town in Miyagi prefecture on April 2017.

The coast line of Watari was once a widespread tide forest which was about 400 years old.

On March 11, 2011, the big Tsunami swept away this forest in a minute.

Since then, the people in Watari town have been reconstructing of land and planting baby pine trees for the reborn of tide forest.
